Description
This article is written in two parts. Part One is more biblical/exegetical and mostly from the New Testament; this first part is limited to studying the definition of the gospel itself. Part Two looks at the Old Testament sacrificial rituals, studying types and how they speak to substitutionary atonement, and how they connect to the New Testament exegetical data. In addition, examination will be given to the theology within Arminian discussions on the subject. The goal here is to not only correct errors but to inspire in you, the reader, a deeper interest in the atonement. The gospel with all its breath is the central thing; we should give ourselves to understand its components as revealed in Holy Scripture and learn how to experience and communicate it to greatest effectiveness and accuracy.
